Dick Van Dyke & Mary Tyler Moore 5

Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore and Carl Reiner were geniuses. Just think of the incredible writing and amazing moments in TV comedy history that won them 15 Emmy awards...

- Laurie can't contain her curiosity and opens a package meant for Rob, out explodes a giant inflatable raft.

- Laura blabs to the world that Alan Brady is bald. Carl is spectacular as the enraged Alan.

- Rob desperately trying to write his novel secludes himself in a mountain cabin.

- Rob has a nightmare about aliens with eyes in the back of their heads, opens a closet and Laura surfs in on a tide of walnuts. (The germ for the series Mork and Mindy created by neighbor Jerry Paris.)

- Rob storms off after fighting with Laura, sleeps through "The Guns of Navarone" at a drive-in movie, and is arrested for assaulting an elderly woman in a bar.

A great show. Amusing, but not all that funny. His coworkers at the office - they were funny!

For television, Moore recalled Myrna Loy against William Powell in 'The Thin Man' movie series or with Cary Grant in 'Mr. Blandings Builds his Dream House' (or as Phylis Kirk in TV's own 'Thin Man'). Their rapport as a compatible couple was as unmistakeable as it was essential to the sitcom's long-held success.

The best I can say for it was that it was charming.
