08/13/2007 | ed4 has a graceful and natural style of writing, giving his reviews depths of insight and experience it would be hard to find in anyone else. I especially appreciate the way he describes his thinking on an issue from the inside, showing you how you, too, might come to share a similar point of view. Since he's the last guy I would expect to find in a cage match with anyone, I feel somewhat ashamed to make a disgracefully contentious point here, but I think I should: his deserved standing as the site's #1 reviewer shouldn't be attributed, as one reviewer said, to an alleged "liberal takeover of RIA" -- look at the endorsements from people on the other side of the spectrum, like aWiseguy, callsitdown, and Lance. Those opinions are a real tribute to what he contributes to the site.

11/04/2006 | Generally a good, knowledgeable reviewer, a bit of a militant when it comes to politics (not that there's anything wrong with that). He and I have sparred numerous times, he's a decent enough opponenet politically. But for him to be rated #1 or #2 indicates the recent takeover of the liberal viewpoint in RIA. I suppose the pendulum will swing back at some point.

11/15/2005 | Extremely literate and thoughtful reviewer with deep, well argued commentary on political matters. While it doesn't hurt that I agree with many of his attitudes and opinions, being a left leaning sort myself, his reviews on popular culture are also evocative and humorous. Always a pleasure to read, and gracious as well.

06/29/2005 | IMHO, edt4 is the intellectual heavyweight of RIA's small liberal contingent. I've enjoyed his debates with EO, and I think it's good for both EO and Lance to have someone to make them work a bit. And edt is not a politics only poster - his stuff on travel is solid as well.
