The animal is not capable of cleaning up after himself/herself, and that's where you, as the owner, come in. I know of something really neat you can use, and it's called a "pooper-scooper". They sell these probably by the thousands, and they're especially made for dog doo messes. If you're a dog owner and have a few dollars burning a hole in your pocket, purse (or wherever you may be hoarding it), it couldn't hurt to get one.... And for those who need things spelled out for them, bring a plastic bag with you, and dispose of the rubbish properly. Do not transfer it from one yard to another.

It's really great because you can just pick it up and eat it.

There was a fresh load on my lawn yesterday. It is very irritating, not to mention disrespectful. One wonders why they don't stay at home and let them do their business on their own lawn.

My brothers friend had his dog Butch over to the house many years ago, and he pooed on our neighbors lawn. After a shouting match, the neighbors did not speak to us for a couple of years.

if this happens owners should take the time to clean up.

Not bad unless you do not clean up afterwards. I go on a regular walk with my dog, and she invariably does her business on the lawn of the local Mormon chapel, and that without any special training or encouragement on my part. I do clean up afterwards though. I think it is the pristine lush green grass that attracts her - I live in a desert area.

Are you kidding? My neighbour's would have me shot.

I guess this one depends on who we're trying to irritate, really. I don't care one way or the other where my dog poos. I 'm sure it would be irritating to my neighbor if I did this, but for me...I'm ok with it.
