They have to realize that there's another life to look after besides their own.

I find this really selfish and pretty disgusting. The Mother has a choice, the unborn child unfortunately doesn't. Are some of these women trying to tell me they can't at least cut down or quit for at least nine months of their lives until the child is born?

Smoking deprives developing little ones part of their oxygen supply, making them smaller and weaker. Smoking also ups the chance of more complicated, unpleasant pregnancies and miscarriage. It's no picnic for people to quit, but keeping that little one from a toxic womb (including secondhand smoke) should be at the forefront of a pregnant woman's mind.

Probably one of the major things keeping me and my wife from having children because we realize that quitting smoking is something that must be done when having a child. And it's a lot easier to do without a spouse smoking around the house. I know that it might not be my kid but to me it just seems like your starting the kid off with a strike against him...

The x wife did it. Infuriated me and I believe that my sons vision problems are a symptom of it. I always will.

Oh,is THAT selfish! I know it's an addiction,but one should get their life together well before planning to raise a family.

Doesn't bother me at all, though it DOES bother me when people DRINK while pregnant. I believe that smoking is less damaging to a growing fetus than drinking, though with current research, I may be wrong. Since it's not MY baby....I don't worry about it.
