 | GenghisTheHun (172) 01/30/2007 | Everyone is always getting the vapors about how loving, gentle and kind is Buddhism. Well, this just in from the London Times of January 21,2007.
The government of Burma (Myanmar) has started a campaign against non-Buddhists and non-Burmese speakers. Since the Karens and Chins of Burma are heavily Christian, the government of Burma has ordered their destruction. These two groups also just happen to be non-Burmese speaking. You see the government wants everyone to be Buddhist in Burma, and to be Burmese speaking.
The memo includes the language, "There shall be no home where the Christian Religion is practiced."
A Buddhist organization, backed by the state, put out a memo to order the destruction of the Christian minority and the government is backing them up. So far the gentle military dictatorship of this Asian country has gone along with this travesty.
