If one truly believes in individual freedom and "Man's natural rights" Capitalism is the only system that insures it. Most criticisms are irrelevant, human nature should never be "kept in check" unless it breaks the law.

"The Machinery of Capitalism is oiled by the Blood of the workers."Capitalism is damned flawed, but sadly it seems to be the best out there. Provided the public can keep the Greed in check. Union Yes!

It has done so much good in the world by increasing the living conditions of mankind, but it does have its limitations. I think it was Chesterton who stated something to the effect that "Having more capitalism doens't necessarily mean having more capitalists."I am more of a distributist and believe that goods be spread as widely amongst the people as possible. Capitalism goes against that theory when the two ultimately meet. That is where capitalism has to be limited in my estimation otherwise it devours everything and everyone and just gets bigger and bigger.

When I was a student and someone else was paying my bills, I thought it was a bad idea. Well, I'm all grown up now, and capitalism suits me just fine. These things happen.

It works. . .creates opportunities while crushing others into bone-powder. . .you need three of these four elements to succeed in this model: work ethic, natural talent, education, and luck. (of course, luck is a by-product of the other three although I do believe in natural luck in small doses.) Capitalism is a model that works best when some aspects are controlled (Ex. Health care - it's a sham.) while other aspects should be left alone. It is nowhere near the rosy picture that flag-wavers want you to believe, but it is a model that works most of the time. But unbridled, unchecked capitalism is also a model that cannot sustain itself.
