Has proved that basketball can thrive at a school where football is king. Is a great recruiter and always has his Buckeyes playing hard.

Seems to have mastered the art of rent-a-player. Four incoming freshmen in 2006/7, three outgoing in 2007/8. A new phrase, one-and-done has been coined for a Buckeye recruit. The on court results have been good, but Matta is better described as an NBA minor league coach than as a college coach.
