I doubt the song "won the election" for Clinton, but it did two things: it presented a clear message of change of direction after 12 years of GOP presidencies, and connected the youthful Clinton/Gore ticket with baby boomers via one of the top hits of Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" album.

Mixed emotions on this one. Still, it gets the song in your head, and that's the main objective of a slogan.
