would love to see what she looks like today!! She should come back ! I bet she has a peaceful life and wants to stay there but i would love to at least see her!

i just finished watching The Secret Garden. i am 56 years young and i heard about this movie for years and finally got to see it. There are so many wonderful lines of wisdom in the script and very well delivered. Great moral to the story and every one should see it. Gennie James was someone you love to hate. Fantastic actress.

By far, her best movie, was "Alex: Life of a Child". It was a true story, made for TV on ABC. I still cry thinking about that movie. She was fabulous in it, playing a dying girl. I recently found the book at a used book store. Incredible. If you can read it - you should. ABC should think about re-releasing it on DVD or TV.

Gennie James was an outstanding talented young actress. I hope some day she comes out of retirement. She has been away too long. She is living in Texas with her husband. But, her public would like to see her again.

saw her in both The Secret Garden and Places in the Heart. she was good in both. child actress during the 80s. did not see much of her after that. too bad that most child actors careers are so short.
