October 2, 1978: Yankees defeat the Red Sox (5-4) 5

I hated the result, but it was a good game, and a fitting climax to a bizarre season that saw the Sox blow a huge lead to the Yankees in August and September (remember the Boston Massacre) and then comeback late in the season to tie and force the playoff game. With all those potent pinstriped bats, it seemed ridiculous that punch and judy hitter Bucky frigging Dent delivered the key blow.
