Be very careful of Spoonerisms, especially on Valentines Day when you are trying to describe a Cupid stunt.
GenghisTheHun 03/28/2007
Slip of the tongue and transposition of corresponding vowels or consonants in a phrase named after the Reverend William Archibald Spooner (1844-1930), Warden of New College, Oxford, who was notoriously prone to this tendency. Some of his quotes that may or may not be true are: "The Lord is a shoving leopard," "It is kisstomary to cuss the bride," and others.

Discovering another good one is one of the little everyday joys that enrich life. Spoonerisms are like sugar-free sweets for the mind.

Speakers prone to spoonerizing would be well-advised to not to use the following phrases in polite company: "four of hearts", "cozy rock", "loopy picker" or "twist my fat".
