ItemImage"Big Dog is a bully who doesn't hesitate to use his superior strength to intimidate other combatants. Big Dog may be smart, articulate or just plain mean, but in any case he is a remorseless fighter, brutally ripping into even the weakest of combatants. Once Big Dog securely fastens his . . .jaws on a hapless victim, Me-Too will join the attack. Me-Too is far too weak and insecure to engage in single combat, and must ally himself with Big Dog or a pack of other Warriors to bring down his quarry

I dont suggest that such a partnership of flame warriors exists on RIA, in fact I rather suspect it does not, but let me present a hypothetical case for discussion purposes only.

Let us assume that there are two imaginary reviewers, both of them obsessive Boston Red Sox fans. This obsession consumes them, and dominates most of their waking life. One reviewer is smarter, more articulate and far more cunning than the other, who is heavily influenced by the dominant member of the pair.

For the sake of convenience let us name them, in the case of the more dominant reviewer, "El Moron Man" and let us name the other "DinosaurBrain." Our fictional team attempts to dominate all discussion of the Boston Red Sox, and state that only they have the true understanding of the subject. They castigate all fans of other teams, denigrate all non-baseball fans, and even go so far as to belittle Red Sox fans who do not walk in lock-step with their opinions.

In this activity, they have separate roles, but roles so closely interlocked with each other that they are effectively symbiotic. "El Moron Man" dresses his commentary with a patina of reason, but quickly devolves into attack mode if challenged, mocked or disagreed with. His articulate abilities and the apparent sincerity of his belief fools more than one genuine Boston Red Sox fan into temporary support, although many quickly find that they are cast aside at the merest hint of disagreement, or worse of moderation.

"DinosaurBrain," on the other hand, functions as a rabid attack dog on a broken leash, savaging all dissenters with semi-coherant rants and sub-literate insults. Together, our imaginary pair can be quite formidable, but as in most such cases, their personal and unwelcoming agenda alienates many of their possible allies among Red Sox fandom.

The most annoying of the pair is Me-To because if he gets into a fight for being a smartass then he immediatly runs for Big Dog.

Seems like GoneAway and myself are the ones attacked by theBig Dogs and the pack.We have the ability to stand alone, but we feel obligated to stand up for the RIGHT!Everyone has their allies and supporters on here, even if they don't admit it.

I prefer those who work on their own, quite frankly. It's one thing to agree with a reviewer, it's another to latch on like a lamprey to a shark. Those who may be considered Big Dogs are, for the most part, alright, since most of them don't choose to have a fan club. As for the tag-a-longs, though, I'd rather hear their own opinions rather than just re-iterating their idols.

There are a plethora of Big Dog reviewers on Rateitall, and the me-toos give them positive comments and helpful reviews even as the evil Big Dogs pick on the good guys.

GoneAway and Louie. And guys, I mean that with the utmost warrior respect. You are worthy (though misguided) opponents.
