I have met many of these off-line, my grandfather is like this, you can tell he's through when he says Obviously we have a difference of opinion, we shouldn't talk about it. And some of my aquaintances are like this. Very frustrating to have a argument with because there is no logic to their conversation.

I'm afraid that this description is the dominant species not just online, but offline as well. And, though this may be a little depressing, even with as many stubborn people there are here on RIA, I find that there are far more extreme cases elsewhere, all over the place. Scary thought, eh?
