Abu Dhabi is located in South-Eastern Arabia, on the Persian Gulf. Founded in 1760, Abu Dhabi became the provisional capital of the United Arab Emirates when it was formed in 1971. Once a major center for the pearling industry, Abu Dhabi grew and modernized as a result of oil being discovered there in the 1960s. The population of Abu Dhabi is approximately 1 million people. I lived in Abu Dhabi for a while & found it great.
Clean. Distances were short. Everyone knew your name & probably has one of the lowest crime rates in the world.
A great place to bring up kids.

I've lived in abu dhabi all my life for 14 years and i am from scotland but i love it here. The city is great and the shops are getting better. the only letdown is the traffic as the taxidrivers can drive madly but the positive factors definetly weight out the negative ones. It's an increasingly popular tourist destination and well worth visiting

A Good City - but the mixed variaty of cultures are diff. than dubai - traffic is organized how ever there are like reckless drives - mostly locals- food is cheap - night clubs are there but the low standard ones are full of russian sluts - business wise not as opened as dubai coz most the Head offices - and head quarters are located in dubai - oil companies and ministries are in dubai and again most of them are operating from dubai - its mostly a quite place strongly recomended for famlies

I recently spent 6 days in AD and was pleasantly surprised by how attractive a city it is. There's decent nightlife, restaurants, shopping -- and it's clean and not crowded with tourists as Dubai is.

Abu Dhabi is a HELLHOLE!!!!! It's totally unorganized, full of dangerous traffic, confusing, and the people are SO RUDE! The prices are way more in this emirate than in any of the others for the same things! I currently live in Abu Dhabi only because of work, but I hate it! I can't wait to move to Dubai! I can say that H.H. Sheikh Zayed is #1, though! :) God bless him!

I had the pleasure to live in Abu Dhabi for 10 years and can all but rate it with 5*. Great climate, clean, white beaches, safety, friendly people, international community.
