Used in my mom's family a lot of the time since my mother and uncle were born pretty close together.

If this was said in my family, most of the time it would be true. Coming from a family where 3 out of 5 kids were adopted, the line was more like, "Don't blame me...I'm adopted." This comes in very handy when the parents or non-adopted siblings are acting embarassing.

my response would be " why yes I am, how did you know?"

that wouldn't have worked with me cuz i was the kid my mom wished she had given up for adoption on more than 1 occasion. i knew i had to be hers.

Martha was the youngest of nine children! Her next sister told her You were adopted. Martha ran to her mother crying and her mother said: Who would adopt a ninth child?
