I've driven a ready mix truck for over 15 years now. This has got to be one of the worst jobs around. Not only putting up with grumpy contractors and dispatchers, you also have to endure extreme weather both hot and cold. Deal with a limited life product that has to be maintained at the proper consistency. You're continually putting up with traffic and delivery instructions, it's a heavy vehicle you're driving across lawns or through rough terrain and on and on. Just getting in and out of the truck around 15 or 20 times on each job, usually 4 "pours" a day. Then you're washing down the fins inside and installing and uninstalling those heavy chutes and washing them down after each job. It's a hard, unrewarding job that really wears you down over the years. There are much better things you can do with your time as a career then this one.
