If I had the technical skills for this, I wouldn't be intimidated by it. You'd definitely have to be able to handle stress well, though.

Maybe somewhat irritating when dealing with computer illiterate people like me... but could be interesting to see how many different ways the idiots around you can screw up something you think is so simple.... working with me you'd feel pretty smart at least!

gosh, the computer guy where I work talks to you for about a half hour about how unlucky he is in the game of life.

They never have enough computer tech's for companies that need them...so you wind up not getting your job done, 'cause you don't have the tools to do it, and they can't cause they don't have enough hours in the day...

I've done this job ... kinda surprised to see it made the list. it's definitely a challenge but I never thought I'd see it on this list

This job could definately have it's ups and downs. The pay is probably pretty decent for the job at most places, and when things are running smoothly it can be nice to be invisible.

I would say yes, and no. For one thing, to be that much of a computer wiz would be awesome. But I do remember everytime some little thing would go wrong with the pc, my boss would be calling up one of the comp guys and they would patiently go through how to fix it, no matter how minute. That would be annoying. Another thing that would have to be annoying about it is having everyone you know think they are free computer service, on your time off. No thanks.

Yes, this is what I do. Actually, I am at the very bottom of the list of computer guys at a university. So, not only do I have my department asking me what's wrong, but also the people in I.T., who happen to know alot more than I do about the systems. However, it pays seven dollars an hour and my boss works around my scheduel, as to let me work as many hours as I can and still take an 18 hour course load. It's also about 100 yards from my apartment. Until I get my degree, it's better than working in fast food.
