We were all stuck indoors over the weekend and watched a show that showed life inside da big house. . .all I could think of is how difficult this job must be. . .I figured that even a big guy like me would last about 30 seconds doing that job. . .which is about ten seconds longer that Mike Vick would. . .

I work in a prison....It is by far the worst job I've ever had. You don't so much have to watch out for inmates as for other staff trying to make themselves look good. The administration has the entire facility on DVR. My boss can watch me in my office from his living room. The administrative staff puts out a 30 page "inmate handbook" that outlines facility rules, but rules for the staff takes up volumes. Every day I go to work I wonder who has more fredom me or the inmates.

this would be such a highly stressful job. always having to be prepared for the unexpected. it would be difficult having to deal with criminals all day in such a dangerous environment.

I have a cousin in law who does this. He seems to like it. UPDATE TO aDios: Yeah, he's kind of sadistic. lol

I guess this could depend on what kind of prison it is. I have a couple of friends that are prison guards in a small prison near Wichita Falls, Texas, and they seem to like it pretty well. That said, I would imagine a bigger prison, one where there were more hardened criminals and violent inmates, would be no walk in the park.
