Obviously not for everyone, but I think it wouldn't be so bad if you were so inclined. Many North Americans have a "dead body phobia" which makes this seem worse than it probably is.

They better get paid the big bucks, 'cause not too many people would want to deal with the things you might see or smell on a job like this.

I am a removal and transfer agent - never inmy lofe have I had such a rewarding job, I get to help families in need and care for those who can't care for themselves. It does take a very caring personality, but if you can understand how you would like to be treated in this situation than thats a really good start

I would never want to do this and I imagine it would be very hard to deal with because of initial shock. You never know what condition a body will be in. Like magu says, these people DO deserve every penny they earn.

a job that would NOT be for most people. Those who can do it probably get good pay. with all those CSI shows on TV, i imagine it has added some interest to those who can take cleaning up after human remains. a very hard job to do emotionally. thank goodness for those who are willing.

Wouldn't want to do it, but it's gotta be done . . . other than the obvious disadvantages of the job, you're going to have to deal with the social stigma of having a morbid job. For example, along similar lines, there's the cremation companies for pets. There was one guy who came in to my office, dropping off an unmarked box. He said he was from a new funerary service for pets, and he's dropping off gifts and information about his services. When he left, I peeked into the large, flat box. Donuts. POWDERED donuts. You could imagine my first thoughts. I felt bad for thinking it of a nice gift from someone, but getting anything with dust from someone who works at a crematorium is kind of weird. I brought it back for the techs. Only one tech was brave enough to eat one.

I've never done this. But it doesn't sound like too much fun. I'll give it a four, because I'm sure their are people who go to school to learn this job, and can't wait to get up in the morning to do it. They can have it!

I can't even imagine doing this job. Any job that was based entirely on death would be rough, but this would probably be the worst I can imagine.
