Yes, a gross job - but there are gloves and masks and really strong disinfectant cleaners. It could be worse.

May not be the greatest but the bathrooms in stores are usually not so bad... I've seen a LOT worse....

EWWWWW....all you have to do is potty train your child to have a new appreciation for how filthy public restrooms are...my theory is how can people do the things in public they wouldn't dare do at home?

This reminds me of my old grocery store days. I cant believe how nasty peeps are, both men and women. I've seen cigarette butts, tissue on the floor, and the worst....poop on the toilet, not inside of the toilet. How hard is it to wipe your own a$$ and respect your fellow man/woman??

It seems there's always cleaning carts in front of the store bathroom, but when you actually get in, there's very little indication that the bathroom has been cleaned. I'm not saying they're all that way, but a good share of them are.

I'm sure we've all got out stories about a store bathroom. That being said, why would someone CHOOSE this job?

With what the average customer does to a bathroom?

I'm so thankful that I work in a clinic that sees on average six clients a day, but the bad thing is there's also the emergency center that comes in at night who sees tons of clients.  I'm the one who cleans the client bathrooms.  Not to point out the obvious, but IT SUCKS.  

The only reason why I clean it:  It's not in my job description.  But, before I started working there, apparently, NO ONE actually cleaned the bathroom.  It was gross.  So, I figure I had to "take one for the team".  If nothing else, it is a constant lesson in humility, which I think a lot of people could use.

Why is it that people do things in public washrooms that they (presumably at least) would never do at home.

Pretty bad, I've done it for less than $5 an hour that was the worst part. The job itself could be worse (OK not too much worse)

you would never believe but womens bathrooms can be so disgusting that its hard to believe a human could make such a mess. what goes through peoples minds as they wipe crap on the walls? i've had to clean a bathroom or two in my day but i was lucky not to have been the one to clean up the worst ones.

You couldn't pay me enough to clean up some of the messes I see in public and store bathrooms.

It is amazing what people will do in public restrooms that I know they would never do in their own home. Cleaning the bathroom is a nasty job, but nasty does not even begin to describe cleaning the bathroom in a public place. Maybe not the worst job in America, but pretty darn bad.

I've never cleaned the restrooms in a store, but I have cleaned them in a restaurant, years ago. It really is a lousy job and I have to agree with the description on this list. definite five!
