For what it's worth, Freud's diagnosis of Napoleon's unquenchable ambition might be summarized as something along the lines of: "Unable was he ... hence he had to take out his sexual frustration through relentless military oneupmanship and world domination." Doesn't sound nearly as clever, though.

I get conflicting reports that Boney actually said this; however it is one of the great palindromes. You all recollect, dear readers, that Napoleon was exiled to Elba after his first defeat.
