PPS-43 5

This is a later version of the great PPSh-41, and probably was the best submachine gun of the war although many hold that the '41 was better. As PzKpfw_VI_E notes it was first issued during the Seige of Leningrad. Later in the war, entire divisions would be armed with this weapon and that was a fearsome opponent for the retreating Germans.

PPS-43 4

Easy to make, easy to use, and able to withstand the worst that the Soviet Union had to offer. This weapon helped greatly to save Leningrad, and was a fine piece of machinery. Although not as great when compared to the best SMG of the war, the PPSh, the PPS is still a great weapon. It proves that something made out of desperate times can find itself in the realm of legendary status.
