It might be the occasion and the company on Thanksgiving but, must admit that I would enjoy it somewhat less if not in the company of my mother-in-law and her clan.

Well this is a holiday deal. You eat it more for tradition than for taste.

It's great stuff, as long as were talking about the real stuff, not that jelly crap that comes in a can. And homemade cranberry sauce where you cook the berries  into a sauce is much better than an alternative that is probably best referred to as cranberry relish.

Made from an American berry so truly American. The canned stuff is fine, but try making your own. It's easy following the directions on the Ocean Spray bag. Comes out differently every time - now a little more bitter, then a little more sweet - but alwasy more flavorful than the canned. Not just for Thanksgiving. A good complement to pork as well as turkey, goose duck, etc. Very high in vitamin C as well. Good stuff!
