 | Loerke (46) 11/04/2007 | America's greatest culinary gift to the world (there are not many), and our best holiday: what other day is devoted simply to eating? Vastly better than Christmas because it's so simple. If I ever left the country, it would be what I missed most, with the exception of my family and friends. No other country cooks the same combination of foods, and in fact it would be very hard to get a whole turkey, stuffing, or even canned pumpkins and cranberries outside the U.S. As the weather gets colder, I've spent a lot of time thinking about that meal.

 | GenghisTheHun (168) 10/29/2007 | This is the All-American meal! Americans invented Thanksgiving, at least the modern celebration, and still carry it out in good order.

No wonder people start packing on the holiday pounds.

 | Molfan (57) 10/27/2007 | Welook forward to this traditional dinner once a year. we have more than we ever eat at this time and make enough to lst a few meals. the turkey is nice and all those favorite side dishes are great. and deserts too. used to be more when some of the relatives were still alive. it is just us now our family of four. but it is still nice.

 | Randyman (103) 10/27/2007 | I'm waiting, knife and fork in hand for my Thanksgiving dinner. When it comes to Thanksgiving, I'm a traditionalist. I want a Roasted Turkey with all the trimmings.

 | twansalem (36) 09/24/2007 | Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce (the real stuff, not the jelly crap in a can). Just a lot of good food, all in the same meal. And then of course, if you aren't already stuffed, there's pumpkin pie for dessert.

 | kylesf411 (1) 07/23/2007 | Traditional Thanksgiving dinner is so overrated. Even when I wasn't vegan the food was still unappealing. My family and I always celebrated with different foods. Sometimes we would make Thanksgiving Chili or have Christmas Pasta. It was fun and we appreciated the holidays and each other just as much.
