Tedious garbage. Eminently predictable, and not just because everyone's familiar with the story. The high point is Tim Robbin's crazed character, which is very good, but not on screen long enough.

I'd heard mixed reviews regarding World of the Wars before seeing it, however I was very much entertained. Everything was well done, including the special effects, acting, and soundtrack. I thought the film was creepy and suspenseful throughout. The ending is a little bit of a feel-good-bummer, but I guess thats how you want a movie that pits humans versus aliens to end.

Not as good as the Pal version of the early 50s but still very respectable. Tome Cruise did a very good job. You just have to forget all his other weirdness in real life and take his acting here for what it's worth.

I thought Tom Cruise did a fine job, I don't know why so many folks gave him such a hard time about this one.

Very mediocre. The only great thing about it was the special effects.

I loved this movie. Despite all the Tom Cruise conterversy, I judged it based on his PERFORMANCE, which was really good. Dakota and Justin (Rachel and Robbie) were really good also.

Martha put a gun to my head and made me go with her to see this Tom Cruise flick. I have been burned so many times by Tom Thumb that I wanted to invest the cost of admission in beer. I offered to drop Martha off, ease into Murphy's Strip Bar and Armenian Grill for a few, and they go get her afterwards. She put her foot done, (stomping on my sore toe, by the way) and we went together. Well I have to admit that it was much better than I expected and not nearly as bad as I feared! I was a great fan of the George Pal 1950's edition, but this flick is respectible even when stacked up against the classic. The politically correct little girl deal is a little tiresome, but I gotta get used to that, I suppose.
