ItemImageRomero is the executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union. The ACLU often defends the rights of unpopular extremists, and are criticized by all angles of the political spectrum. They defend not only the rights of Americans to express mainstream views but radical, often hateful ones as well. Their past clients include Oliver North, the KKK, NAMBLA, CAIR and the NRA.

When I was younger...and crazier,American Nazi's scheduled a march through Skokie,Illinois-then the Holocaust survivor capital of the US.It was later made into 'Skokie, starring Danny Kaye. I figured there would be a rumble and I wanted to be on the front lines. But before,I made it there, the march was cancelled.Later a story came out that the leader was a convicted pedophile, whose father was an Aushwitz survivor. The ACLU lost a lot of-a least its Jewish supporters, because of their defense of the Nazi's. I don't think the level of their clients or causes has changed;;I know they tried recently to get some Biblical plaques removed from the Grand Canyon-and I think they succeeded in getting a microscopic cross removed from the LA county seal.Anyway,I used to think of the ACLU as a quasi Jewish organization;so at least I can thank Anthony Romero for taking over.

I have mixed feelings about the ACLU. I'm all for equal rights for all people and anti discrimination, but to put the rights of disabled people and minorities in the same category as pedophiles and klansmen is an insult to all Americans. As far as I'm concerned, some people don't deserve special rights and should dig up a hole and live in it.

Although I cannot put it so eloquently as CastleBee, but to restate what James has written, anyone who is a staunch vocal defender of the ACLU as this man is, who holds firmly to the beliefs of an organization that has done more to undermine the US Constitution and has taken away more rights of the American people in a thinly veiled guise of defending those rights, has definitely thrown a monkey wrench into the rights of all Americans.

Anybody that has anything to do with the ACLU is playing a part in ruining the country. It's another organization that was founded on noble intentions, but has been drug into the mud by people like Romero.

Cross-eyed, anal, inbred, amoral idiots with cottage cheese for brains. Yes, as the steaming turd we call society whirls down the old crapper I would say he is definitely part of the prevailing stench.
