no way i would rather fry it and know that it is cooked right.

Not quite as good as cooking on the stove, but in a pinch it'll work. The texture of microwaved bacon is a little different than stovetop bacon. Makes a mess too.

I used to do this too texasyankee, I have not cooked bacon this way in years. I also had a platter that was designed just for cooking bacon in the microwave; it had raised grooves and a well to catch the grease. What a pain in the neck it was to have to scour it clean.

I used to do this a while back, haven't really done it in a while but if you place them between two paper towels,and keep it flat with something like a microwavable plate, the results aren't too bad.
