When I was a kid, I remember going over to my Uncle's house and watching the Wonderful World of Disney in color, because his was the first color television in the family. I can remember how in awe I was of all the colors; it was great!

The first years of disney were called "Disneyland", later became Walt Disney Presents, the Walt Disneys Wonderful World of Color. Wonderful World of Disney was probably in the sixties or early seventies. The early years had the "Mickey Mouse Club" progam which was on right after school I think and it was a must-see show for most kids of that era. If their family had television. All the early shows were in black & white. I think the first color evening shows were about 1956 or '57. I remember the whole neighborhood migrated to one kid's house that had a color set to see one of the popular shows in color. The family room was packed with kids! They probably only did that once!

oh come on. this was only good when it showed one of its feature films or classic cartoons. the live action stuff was a drag. the educational cartoons with ludwig vondrake et al were pure garbage - felt like you were in school (which you were- the school of american propaganda).

back in the 60s when i watched this it was Wonderful for me and my brother. this was back in the olden days when we were lucky to get four channels. so every sunday when this came on it was a treat. i remember cartoons of course. and lot of times they showed those wildlife adventures. sometimes we would get a made from disney movies. that ended up at this time. it was quite entertaining and good viewing. it started out in the 50s but my memories are form the 60s and 70s. every Christmas they would show the holiday show. i remember jiminy Cricket hosting it singing from all of us to all of you a very merry Christmas. etc.

Homercat 1/30/2005 I didn't know this show went back to the Fifties. I remember it in the Sixties and Seventies. It made my Sunday nights great before going back to school the next day.

It was a family tradition to sit and watch it. Now it is the Simpsons. What a jump........

Mixed bag. Some episodes weren't bad, others were dead awful.

I must have been around 6 or 7 yrs old when we received our first color TV. Only time I stayed indoors was to watch Wonderful World.

I used to look so forward to Disney every Sunday but you also have to remember back then, we didn't have home videos and Nickelodian and stuff we ACTUALLY went outside and played!
