I'll always remember an interview with Phil Bronstein a few years back which related how, during his time reporting on the U.S.-backed counterinsurgency death squads in El Salvador, he managed to get access to a TV, which the state dictatorship had banned. Bronstein barely got a signal, but he did catch a few snippets of a news show in which Bob Novak was loudly denying that the El Salvadorean government was anything like a police state. Then as always, Novak was a pure tool of the right, whose very survival on the talk-show circuit (in the face of a series of demonstrable lies) testifies to right-wing bias at the major news corporations.
