This is significant in that it shows a new trend. Terrorists are now not only targeting US and foreign targets with greater frequency, they are also targeting fellow Muslims as well, as the Sharm El-Sheikh bombings and the more recent ones in Amman, Jordan demonstrate. Out of these two tragedies actually emerges an opportunity for our War on Terrorism. By targeting their own fellow citizens, the terrorists risk eliciting political opposition from their own people and governments. It used to be assumed that such movements were a major hornets nest that couldn't be disturbed by the local governments. Terrorist groups are now hitting domestic targets as a means to protest nominally pro-Western government policies. However, such an approach can come back to blow up in their faces. I've always believed that the key to fighting terrorism is to isolate the movements which spawn it politically speaking. Even if most of the Arab world does not support the current administration policies, certainly they don't support violence against their own citizens perpetuated by political groups that are largely reactionary.

A great part of my business is associated with Egyt so this event was of major personal significance. Of interest, however, is that now, 3 months later, tourism to Egypt appears to be sharply increased. Go figure.

Well, now the typical attitude based on non-sense is revealed with a glance of a fuzzy historical facts 1- Israel has turned in Tabbi to Egypt in the late 1980's not sharm el sheik 2- Remeber the bombings in Tabba's sheraton in 2000- 2002 can't really recall the year ? well thats part two 3- Sharam el sheik is a city of hotels and resorts its around 1200 KM ahead from cairo the capital and even from the other cities 4- If we assume that Cairo and Alex or Egypt is not safe, then i think we should assume that liverpool and ireland is not safe after london's bombings 5- Agaian and Again linking a religion with an even is a quality of an amaerican media so no wonder 6- If they attackers were hindu's therfore Hinduism is a religion of war !?! gemme a break 7- There were egyptians MUSLIMS & CHRISTIANS among the casulties along side with SAUDI'S LEBANESE IRANIANS AMERICANS BRITS IRESH .. etc) so what makes MUSLIM kill another MUSLIM ?? 8- what the hell do u know about Islam any way ??? humm camels and strippers duh yeah it's a fact but the only thing it was like 3 thousand years ago .. and they were Arabs not muslims !! if run a lil research about the MUSLIM countries and cultures during this centuary u'll get to know that technology and education and life is rosey outthere Finally i would say that a Kuwaity business man who happens to be a muslim has donated $50 million to the states in order to help them out with the N.O disaster ! Thanks for ur time

Some of the official rhetoric indicated that this was directed at zionists and crusadors. This has been a popular vacation spot for europeons and Israeli's and was part of Israel until Israel returned it to Egypt for peaceIn any case, having had family friends that were on the flight that the moslem pilot for Air Egypt deliberately crashed into the ocean, hopefully my family and friends will stay the ---k out of Egypt;check Jewishworldreview.com for ordained Orthodox Rabbi Jackie Mason's column on 'Islam...is a religion of...What..?'
