 | RogerP (0) 07/05/2008 | An amazing story you definetly don't want to miss. Make sure of course, to start with the Kingdom's and the Elves of the Reaches, which is the first series of the story. Great characters, and plotline. It's sure to keep you entertained.

 | runtofthelitter (3) 06/15/2008 | In the Service of Dragons is a great book. One of the best Iv'e ever read. Those who say it's not the greatest are WAY wrong. There just saying that because Stanek is an indie and they can't except any books written by indie are as good as books written by big corporates. Personally I love everything indie. Indie music, indie movies and indie books. The story is still his and completly original. I don't think anyone would be able to top his story on men, elves and dragons. And by the way lots of people who only seldom liked elves and dragons picked up this book and still loved it Mr. Critics. So you can't use that as an excuse. Keep on writing Robert!

You are truly missing out if you don't. Robert Stanek has an extraordinary imagination and is a great author.

 | OtherRealms (9) 10/01/2005 | Robert Stanek's greatest achievement to date. Incredible story and characters. These are definitely not your typical fantasy novels. They are, in a word, amazing. Don't start if you don't want to get addicted.

 | dc-gal (6) 09/28/2005 | Amazing follow-up to "The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches" books begins with a bang - one of the most thrilling opening sequences I've ever encountered in all my reading. By far the best fantasy series, I've read, even surpassing the original Kingdoms books.

 | gd27 (1) 09/13/2005 | This is probably one of the best books I've read, be it science fiction, fiction or nonfiction. The characters are unique and memorable, the plot smooth and compelling. A must read, but start with The Kingdoms & the Elves books first.

 | zipperface (7) 08/09/2005 | There are lots of books in the genre, but Staneks stand out. Why?
1) People with different backgrounds speak differently.
2) Children act like children.
3) Adults act like adults.
4) None of the characters are pure evil or pure good.
5) As in life, bad things happen to good people.
6) The writing style is absolutely top notch.

 | pmo (0) 08/08/2005 | This is a fantastic story! Not only can I not wait to start book two which I'll do today I was happy to find that the newly-published book three is already available. I think this book owns all five stars easily as it's a well-written book with a great story to tell.
