The book is actually more appealing to me from a tactical standpoint. The tactics in the book are actually pretty decent but are ignored in the movie. It wasn't a total turd but could be better.

A favorite of mine, in part because it introduced me to Denise Richards. This was a good future movie with a plausible premise based on it's rather campy style. It was entertaining to watch and the idea of a Military State , Space Army was a good one and handled well in it's war with the bugs.
