It was a pretty good film, not great just pretty good. The performances were really good, though.

Its tough to turn a truly great novel into a great movie. It was attempted with both 1984 and Animal Farm. In a way, both did very well. But, in a bigger way, both failed to live up to the genious that was George Orwell.

Damn good. . .but not perfect. John Hurt as Winston Smith is very convincing. A dark and terrifying film. . .not nearly as scary as the novel but worth watching.
