08/13/2005 | Breathtaking !!! This mountain sits like a centerpiece for Washington State and dominates the southern horizon in Seattle. It rises 14,000 fett above sea level and is flanked by snow and glaciers year yound. It looks spectacular at sunset when the pink and orange sun rays are reflected on it's white snowy flanks. It is also preserved winthin a national park with great hiking trails and many other outdoor activities. Although this mountain is imposing as it is a volcano and could erupt and cause catostrophic destruction to it's surrounding areas it certainly is a sight to behold and I was always glad to see it when the clouds would clear out.
