Charles Mound, Illinois 3

Charles Mound is the highest natural point in Illinois, 1235 feet, 376 meters. It lies in far northwest Illinois, near the small town of Scales Mound, just a quarter mile from the Wisconsin border. It lies in the area that was not covered by the last big glacier and was not ground down by ice as was the rest of Illinois. The highest point in Illinois is the Willis Tower, formerly Sears Tower.
