I used to get disgusted, but now I try to be amused.  For all of the pathetic sleaze that he airs, I have come to the sad realization that he is just holding a mirror up to an ugly world.

His show may be more WWF like fakey, but it's fun and Jerry seems like such a great, or at least likable, guy.

Springer is making a living off the crazies in our country. He isnt screwing us up. He is however exploiting our lower class but I don't blame him....if they are willing to put themselves on national tv, then Jerry has the right to make money on them.

Seriously, what are Springer and Lindsay Lohan doing on this list? They have about as much ability to screw up America as, well, me. They have minimal cultural impact and laughable political and economic clout. Speaking of people who do have the ability to crap things up, where are Howard Dean and Scalia for this list?

Springer's audience and fans are screwing up America- not the man who gave a check to a whorehouse. . .just because they serve slop doesn't mean you have to eat it. . .

His show is one of the worst things to happen to television and yet still manages to be on. It perhaps started the sad trend in television that instead of programs showing positive role models that gave people something to strive for (like Star Trek, for instance), Springer showed the absoulte worst that some humans were capable of--complete with a Roman-Gladiator-esque crowd who destroyed what little self-esteem these sad people had left and cheered on totally inept behavior like stripping and fighting and such. His show should have never made it to the air, much less stayed on for over a decade. His show, unfortunately, remains a dependable fountain of uncreative, nausea-inducing raunch.

Jerry's show is an outlet for the lunatic fringe of America. It's our embarassing side we'd just as well keep out of the limelight. Jerry makes a living dealing with this freak show so he's laughing all the way to the bank. He's screwing up America because his show only inspires more stupid, riduculous and mindless TV Talk shows. There could be more useful, quality TV programming on during Jerry's timeslot and the slots of the Jerry imitators ( Maury Povich) but we've got Springer. Watch it if you like it. Sad thing is he's broadcast overseas where foreigners see our lunatic fringe and think this is what America is really like. Thanks Jerry !

This show is very good for America, it helps cops track down of the the parol violaters, it helps the tailor parks keep their census updates, and it gets the trahiest people in the country off of the streets for a full hour, imagine all the crap they could do in one hour.

Actually his show is just one massive freak-show. Some people do need their bread and circuses at the end of the day. What he does is rather tasteless, but maybe not as much so as his prior profession...

The Bee is correct. You can't blame Jerry for entertaining the idiots.

If anyone's a symbol of cultural depravity, its Jerry Springer. I can't even stomach the ads for his show.
