Its like a little hidden nook. Walking in we weren't sure were the front entrance would lead us.....prob to some seedy bar, but turning the corner we laid eyes on a big open and airy bar/pub! Sweet! Drinks and prices were decent. Music was fun. Someone told us they have little bands play upstairs sometimes....would like to check that out someday. The crowd was a little TOO hipster in my opinion....I'm kinda getting sick of it honestly. But whatevs. And they have food, didn't know that....which is cool. I love the tavern/castle/cave atmosphere.

Don't mind the sketchy neighborhood -- this is a great pub. Come on one of their quiz nights for the best crowd experience, and join in the intellectual battle while drinking tasty British beer. Get your order in early for the fish and chips; they don't make them, but instead send a runner over to the Old Chelsea down the street and bring it to you when it's ready. Why do it yourself when the Chelsea does such a great job?

A dive on Geary St that's surprisingly big inside. Bands are upstairs in the back (which is actually the front). Cheap German beer and a lively crowd are usually present.
