The Bucks went through a moderate "rebuild-and-wait" phase last year, but so far, I've yet to see THAT much difference (especially in the standings). EVERY team in that division has reloaded with playoff intent, which makes Milwaukee's baby steps all the more shakier. The money spent during the off-season provides stability (where the talent can focus more on their game and less on their asset allocation), and the team's coach has a lot of pressure off his shoulders, as he can do some first-year tinkering to see what works better. Redd is still "Mr. Go-To", and I haven't seen too many clubs that can keep him down for long. Bogut has allayed my fears and is actually able to rebound. Maurice Williams has been a nice surprise, and Ford has found his production again (although his speed has been reduced by last year's injury). Despite all that good news, they're STILL winning games they shouldn't and losing games they shouldn't (hence, the 10-7 record so far). It's early yet, but does anyone really see them taking it to the likes of Cleveland, Indiana, or Detroit? With luck, they could squeak into the 7-slot this year, but a chance at a trophy hoist would elicit herniated laughter.
