Not that I remember{ of course i could have}. I think I have dialed a number thinking I am calling a certain friend and find I dialed someone else instead so I have to go with it and act like I meant to call them. doofus me!

Great word and so descriptive. In the old days it wasn't so bad, as soon as it hit you that you forgot who you were calling, you would stare at the phone, feel a little stupid and then hang up without anyone being the wiser. Now with modern technology being what it is and with caller ID you can't do that any more. That's progress?

I don't use a telephone more than two or three times a month, so it is easy to remember.

Hah! Its probably old age though I will deny it to the death! I just ask: Who am I calling? It usually gets a laugh but not always. It helps to take notes whenever you are on the phone!

I've rarely had this happen, but I know a few people who do this. The answer: Answer the phone as Hey, it's me. It'll buy you some time while they try to figure out who they're talking to.

This is an illness my wife has been afflicted with from an early age. There is no cure, no medication will help. There are three options: 1). Uuuhhhhhh . . . 2). Who is this? followed by the inevitable angry retort, Who's THIS? 3). Hang up quickly, less effective these days due to caller ID. Hey, did you just call me and hang up on me? I don't know, who is this?
