Could this also refer to the little teeny nose-prints of cats looking out windows? How 'bout a word that covers little kitty paw prints all over your mother's mirror-surfaced table (particularly if she just used Windex on it)?

We don't have a dog. We have a daughter who, when on-line and on the phone simultaneously, likes to put her feet up . . . on the windowsill. Beep, are these your footprints on the window again? Silence.
