08/02/2005 | You don't help people by eating away more and more of their paychecks in taxes, and regulating practically everything they try to do. I agree with the philosophy that says the government that governs least, governs best.

08/02/2005 | Ideologies suck -- I prefer smaller government, unlike the current behemoth that has invaded our rights and our pocketbooks. But, I would like to see our government re - prioritize itself more towards the middle class, and less towards big business special interests which, seems to be the norm for both parties. I believe only real campaign finance reform would remedy this dilema.

08/02/2005 | I derive from LBJ's Great Society agenda. The federal government must do its job. If people can't or are incapable of helping themselves, the government must provide them with efficient programs so they won't starve, sleep in the gutters, or eat off of garbage bins. America has to do something about it. If we're a rich country, we must help those in the bottom of the ladder. If our government doesn't help the destitute and indigent crime will increase, more innocent people will get killed, more wasted tax dollars on building jails, our reputation around the world will suffer drastically, and our nation will not survive. We need to be a generous America if we want to be respected around the world again.

08/01/2005 | No. . .I want the government to do the things I can't do. . .take away my trash, pave the roads, build nuclear submaries, put lawbreakers in prison, and so on and so forth. . .less gov't is better.

08/01/2005 | Well I sure hope so. As I may have stated in a previous posting, I am hoping for an increase in my social security check since my country club dues are going up.
