 | middlefinger (4) 08/27/2005 | Like others, I hate the war-for-no-good-reason. It is as if Bush woke up one morning and decided TODAY...I'LL MAKE WAR WITH THE PEOPLES OF IRAQ. THE REASON I'M GOING TO PICK ON IRAQ IS...IS...WELL, THEY MADE MY DADDY MAD. SO...I'LL CALL ON THE UNIFORMED BODY OF THE US MILITARY TO SUPPORT ME WHAT I HAVE DEEMED A 'NOBLE AND HONORABLE CAUSE'. WHY? BECAUSE THEY ARE THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF OTHER PEOPLE, LESSER PEOPLE...AND THEREFORE 'EXPENDABLE'...AND...ALTHOUGH IT'S REALLY NONE OF ANYBODY ELSE'S BUSINESS, MY DAUGHTERS ARE NOT EXPENDABLE...AND, BESIDES...SOMEWHERE OUT THERE IN THAT VAST SEA OF AMERICAN PATRIOTISM, THERE IS SOMEBODY WHO'D BELIEVE ME IF I PLACE MY HAND OVER MY HEART AND STATE (emphatically) THAT THE MOON IS MADE OF USDA CHEESE. It may be 'in' to be a war-supporting conservative, but hell...I'll never know. I can't hear/see the message of the Republican party (on any issue) because of the actions/words of the Presidents Bush, their administrations, and here lately Pat Robertson. Everytime one of our soldiers dies, I am angered by the fact that this war was entered on a whim. None of it makes sense and hundreds of years from now it still won't make any sense. History will treat Bush as a leader who woke up one morning with a 'wild-hair' and decided that the US should go to war with the Iraq just because HE felt like it was the thing to do.

 | bluetarbaby (8) 08/02/2005 | Right on, Planetary! - what kind of sicko doesn't hate war? But hating war is not the issue with Liberals.............it's hating pointless wars. Don't get me wrong, I hate all wars, but I can admit that some are neccessary like WW2. That doesn't mean I like it. Regardless, 'Johnny Got His Gun' is a book we could all learn from. On another note: Nothing made me despise the Right more than how they turned Kerry into a coward for claiming he only kinda got shot. Bullets were flying you ding bats! Would he be tougher and more of a great American cowboy if he had taken one in the gut!?!!!!!? No matter where he got shot on his body, he was in the ^&$@ while Bush was playing beer pong! I know this is old news, but I can't get over it! I've never seen an American soldier be criticized for only kinda getting shot in battle. Think about it. It's EVIL. He only got grazed, so Bush is tougher??????!!!!! And whether he took a bullet straight on or not is beside the point. Jerks. Wow, you guys are real Americans, I'll tell ya.

 | samjung23 (4) 08/02/2005 | Ask yourself, would you tell your kid to walk into school on his first day and declare that he doesn't like fighting to all the kids? He would be picked on until graduation senior year. So why would you support a public policy that denounces war? In the real world, there are always others willing to take advantage of those unwilling to fight. Why do you think so many American soldiers are dying in Iraq? All the idiot protestors are encouraging the insurgents to attack our troops, under the belief we'll crack eventually. Please, quit, you freaks.

 | Jar-Jar Binks (16) 08/01/2005 | Who in their sane mind would LOVE war? If there's gonna be a World War 3, I'm not gonna serve. I'm gonna drive either to Canada or Mexico and hideout if I get called up. I don't feel like killing anybody.

 | CanadaSucks (45) 08/01/2005 | The stupidity astounds. . .that democrat-liberal-dirtbag that you didn't vote for (Kerry) has forgotten more about war than your Vietnam-dodging, profiteering, chicken-hawk-zealot hero Dubya. The idea that libs and dems are anti-war nuts across the board is as passe as the 8-track tape.

 | Inmyopinion (10) 08/01/2005 | I hate THIS war ( excuse me, I mean this global struggle against violent extremism). But, obviously, some wars are necessary. Wars are TERRIBLE, they cause thousands if not millions of deaths, and drain the funds of the countries that are fighting them. But, if there were no wars, there would be no America, there would be no peace either. Sometimes, SOMETIMES, wars can eventually lead to some peace. I personally don't believe in true peace but things can calm down after wars.

 | LanceRoxas (40) 08/01/2005 | I mean who loves war? But there are things worse that war. War is necessary so long as there are evil people or mislead people on this planet. To sit around with your head in the sand until evil knocks on your door or Hitler has conquered half of Europe is patently foolish. I hate war too but I understand that to protect freedom and our way of life sometimes it's necessary.

 | Wavebacker (25) 07/27/2005 | War is a way of exercizing Political power. There are times where War is necessary. Liberals are more likely to be critical of War if it isnt for a clear and valid reason with a distinct and palatable objective.
