They fought Andrew Jackson in the Creek War of 1814 and Autuga County was part of the Creek Land Cession after the Indians were defeated.
The county has about 40,000 people and Pratville is the county seat. Prattville is nicknamed "The Fountain City" due to the many artesian wells in the area.
