Classical bad film. In terms of reputation, this one is up there with Plan 9 from Outer Space. And not only was it insulting and wretched, it had a great cast! Warren Beatty and Dustin Hoffman. This movie was actually able to generate sympathy for Islamics before anyone had ever heard the terms tolerance, multiculturalism or political correctness. To understand the true impact of this film, you have to remember that the Muslims got some sympathy, as a result of this flick, in America only a short time after the Iranian Hostage Crisis.
