Come on! This is minimum wage were talking about. You cant expect an Einstein group of workers on a job that pays minimum wage on a part time basis. I can see Paris Hilton needing an IQ requirement though.

that could put some people out of a job. just kidding. it can be annoying but some things need to be taken into consideration. the drive up communication systems are usually poor and they make it hard to hear. add a little noise from other vehicles etc... and its virtually impossible for them to hear. also people make mistakes and its going to happen like it or not.

Yeah, right after we make it a requirement for RIA reviewers.

The reason why they work fast food is that they can sometimes do no better.

I know this idea is meant somewhat in jest, but stll a bad idea. Uneducated people already have few job options. You don't want to see welfare increase do you? Plus, educated people aren't going to do jobs like this. I like Ignatius' idea. I saw some study that touched on this. I think it said all the states John Kerry won had a higher population of college grads than states Bush won. Of course, college grad doesn't neccessarily mean high IQ, but you get the idea.

Being clean, polite and be able to speak the English language fluently would be enough when ordering burgers. Lets get there first...baby steps.

I agree that IQ is part of the problem (sometimes) - something the fast food industry employees have in common with many other industries (it just shows more when you're standing in a drive-thru all day in a funny hat). BUT, the main problem is that low pay also attracts the youngest and most inexperienced workers. And that might not be the problem it is if they were given proper training and support. When I get really ticked at bad service I receive I ultimately blame poor management.

Employers would hate this. The brightest bulbs don't work fast-food, but I hate their pissed off attitudes on the job. If you don't like your job, go to college, get a degree, and join the rest of us in the tax-payer club!

Yes, and the standard should be that if your IQ is over 95 you can't have the job b/c you would be underemployed.

I'll settle for I.Q. requirements for politicians first.
dpostoskie 07/28/2005
Who would work there if they required IQ tests, how about language requirements instead....like speaking English?
Sundiszno 07/28/2005
Are you saying that you want fast food chains to go out of business?
louiethe20th 07/28/2005
At least have a Forrest Gump level, 65 or higher.Lieutenant Dan they didn't want pickle!
texasyankee 07/28/2005
Who would work there, then?
Jed1000 07/28/2005
Only if the same requirements are applied to anyone seeking political office.
