I saw this as a kid, when it was released, and it remains a sentimental favorite, although it has more than its share of cheesey moments.

Melodramatic in parts, this is one of Ray's finest film achievements. A veritable laundry list of eye-popping visuals, such as the classic multi-skeleton battle sequence, the Hydra guarding the Golden Fleece, and the amazing exchange between the Argonauts and Talos. Todd Armstrong did a nice job as Jason (a bit leaden during the Hydra battle), and the movie even sports Honor Blackman (better known to Bond fans as Pussy Galore) doing a turn as Hera, Queen of the Gods. Should be studied by anyone wanting to go into animation, as it's a timeless classic and a groundbreaker to boot.
