This one I liked, with the Dr. Who guy playing a great villain, and a psychodelic quality throughout the film. Plus, the centaur/Gryphon fight was great.

Much to enjoy about this installment: the best storyline (the mystery of the three golden tablets and what happens when they're put together), and the best musical score. Also has the best Sinbad performance by John Phillip Law (the right style of dress, the only one to employ an accent, and the most liberal user of Islamic interjections), and features the marvelously-sweaty chest of 70s poster girl Caroline Munroe (who also takes a stab at an accent). The villain, Prince Koura, is just evil enough to make you root against him. Anybody notice the continuity gaffe with this one? Haroun, the comic relief, turns sour in EYE OF THE TIGER and plays Raffi! Exceptional monsters, with the impish homunculus, stiff-as-a-board figurehead, one-eyed centaur, and (my all-time favorite) Cali, the many-armed goddess of the Rock People (the grace with which this is choreographed is awesome). A close second is the Spirit Of The Well, with its fiery visage and booming cackle. Ends warmly, with the disfigured king getting his face back through the largesse of Sinbad and company. A 70s drive-in staple, it looks even better digital. Trust in Allah, but tie up your camel!
