 | CanadaSucks (45) 09/02/2005 | More self-congradulatory, crucifix-clutching, liberal-esque self-validation. People can't get through one single day in Western Civilization without moral relativism despite what the fringe zealots (from both the left or the right) claim. Governments and people decide when it is and when it is not acceptable to kill. We make personal, professional, and intellectual choices of discrimination that exclude some people and include others. (This is not a bad thing at all- we all tend to 'include' family and friends and give them our resources in the face of those who may or may not need it more. . .Hey, I've got my hand raised.) And don't forget you 'absolute moral' code types, capitalism is based on you saving and investing your money while you look the other way to economic exploitation of third world countries and look the other way to the poor and suffering (I do). . .we all make discriminatory choices and pretend that they really don't affect other people. That's fine, but drop the pretense of a supreme moral code because we all make discriminatory choices on an almost daily basis.

 | EschewObfuscation (61) 09/01/2005 | There certainly is an absolute moral code, but it is funny to read the posters who contend that no such code can possibly exist. And it is one of those fundamental issues we disagree with each other on, across the political aisle. UPDATE: I agree with Cutgurl's 1st sentence. I'm not sure where she's going with that 2nd.
