12/31/2005 | Sfalconer: I believe the "empires" Sharpton refers to include ancient Egypt and elsewhere in the Middle East. Afro-centric scholars claim the whole region as being essentially one and the same, which essentially is also why they claim such figures as Jesus as being one of their "own." Yet as many realize, this is kind of like claiming that the native Indians in the Amazon rain forests in South America are the same culture and race as people residing in Buenos Aires, Argentina. No one really challenges such "scholars" within academia for fear of being ostracized and called "racist," thus the myth gets repeated ad nauseum and thus, perpetuated by opportunists like Sharpton in the press.
