 | Djahuti (54) 08/05/2005 | I have to give them lots of credit. They do an amazing job for the volume they handle. It still costs only 37 cents to send a card clear across the Country, and I have found their shipping to be far superior in value to such competitors as UPS (who I've seen leave totally damaged packages then refuse to take responsibility) and Fed Ex.

 | louiethe20th (73) 08/04/2005 | A great service to everyone.A stamp at 37 cents is a bargain.Try mailing a letter in Japan or Germany, they are between 75 cents and a dollar. You will get an apathetic older fella at the window from time to time, but most of em' have been there 40 years and they are union, what ya expect? As a whole though they are fantastic!Lord help us all if the USPS is ever privatized. The great service will be over, especially for people in rural areas. They will be out for the money like any other business. This is one system that is good to be regulated by the government.

You can mail a letter and be assured, almost to an exact certainty, that it shall get to where it was sent. The tellers at the windows need some efficiency training, however. I always wonder why bank tellers are so much faster and more efficient than USPS tellers.

 | Wavebacker (25) 08/02/2005 | I think the Postal Service is underrated. The service they provide is very important and they do it in an effecient manner that is cost effective. The job itself is tough and mundane, yet letters and packages get to where their going , which is very important and they get there in good condition in a reasonable time. The Postal Service also provides a great many jobs. Sure they're not glamorous, but they're vital. When you think about it, this system could really be screwed up, yet it works very well.
